The Columbus Day Tournament was a washout (literally) so I didn’t have any games to shoot last weekend. That left me time to go over the pictures from the beach, which I had been putting off because I just wasn’t happy with the way they turned out. First, I was shooting in fading light because Ben got home late from a golf game. Then, Ben & Kate were peevish (to use one of Ben’s vocabulary words) and either pouted or gave me cheesy smiles. Ben also had a wad of gum that he refused to throw out, so his mouth looked funny in nearly every picture. A was the only one who cooperated and gave me great poses and expressions. Do you think it would be too weird if I used her picture on this year’s Christmas card instead of my kids?

Don’t be so harsh with the quality of pictures you took unless of course you’re in competition with the pros. The most important thing is that the subject(s) look so damn beautiful.
A certainly gave you excellent smiles. And so did Ben and Kate despite being peevish. If you want to include A in your Christmas card, I’m sure John and Lisa would be delighted. I could always point out that the third party in the photo is a very close family friend of Ben and Kate.
Nice, nice photos. California guy and gal enjoyed them.
