Ben’s teacher got married today, and she was sweet enough to invite the kids to the ceremony. Ben wanted to go, so he got all fancied up and I drove him to the wedding. It was a lovely ceremony and the kids all looked so nice in their finery. It’s such a funny age for these kids. Some of the girls were wearing heels (tall ones!) and looking quite grown up. The boys, on the other hand, still looked like little boys in their slightly-too-large blue blazers and rumpled khakis. Ben took off his tie in the parking lot and the jacket followed quickly after he climbed in the car!

Teacher Wedding
Saturday, March 31st, 2007Champions!
Thursday, March 15th, 2007Spring soccer season is here, and the boys started it off with a bang! They played in a tournament this past weekend and met up with some familiar Division 1 foes. All their hard work, including the snow practice really paid off, as they looked crisp out on the field. They went undefeated, starting off with a 3-0 shutout against SYC Tigers Red:
In the afternoon, the boys shut down the PWSI Courage Red (4-1) in a game they controlled from beginning to end.
I missed Sunday’s game as I was flying off to California for a conference, but Ted did capture these photos of the team hoisting the championship trophy high after posting wins first against Arlington (5-3) and then SYC Tigers White in the finals (3-1).
Dedication
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007Or maybe foolhardiness. Whichever it is, the Titans (and their coach) went on with practice as usual, despite the snowfall. We got there late, both because Ben doesn’t get dismissed until 10 minutes before the start time, and because I had foolishly thought practice would be cancelled and didn’t send Ben to school with his soccer gear so we had to run home and get it. I got a few pictures, but I had the completely wrong setup since I just grabbed my bag without thinking about what was in it so they are not great. Plus I didn’t feel like freezing in the falling snow!
