That’s not a comment on Ted’s lack of color, but rather the name of Kate’s travel soccer team. Real — as in the Spanish word for Royal (you might have heard of Real Madrid?). In any case, I’m a bit behind with posting pictures from Kate’s game so this is a catch up post. She’s had four regular season games and at this age scores and standings are not kept. It’s been an adjustment, moving to 7 v 7 and the higher skill level. But she says she loves it, even more than ever, which is all we can ask for.

Thursday, September 25th, 2008Turf
Sunday, September 21st, 2008Our club recently built two new beautiful artificial turf fields and the Titans had the honor of playing the inaugural game Saturday morning. They lived up to the honor, coming from behind to win the game 2-1.
The boys got to play a second game on turf today, on the older turf field the club developed several years ago. They are on quite the hot streak, winning again today 2-0. You know it’s going to be a good day when the first usable shot is a celebration one!
Game 2
Monday, September 15th, 2008It was a blazing hot day with a heat index of 98 degrees. So hot that the ref called for water breaks at the midpoint of each half. The heat didn’t seem to faze the boys, though, as they continued their unbeaten streak this season with a 4-1 win. Ben and one of his good friends on the team were named co-captains for the season (and maybe the year) at the practice prior to this game and they both wore their armbands proudly. Ben doesn’t say much about these things but I could tell that he was quite pleased and honored by the designation.
