The Disabled List

The Rockets stayed undefeated in what was apparently another exciting come from behind victory.  I say apparently exciting since I was with Ben at the ER after he got trampled in the 4th quarter.  Luckily there’s no fracture or tear, just a deep contusion of the Achilles tendon.  He hobbled around on crutches for several days but got the all clear today from the orthopedist to get rid of the crutches.  He’s not cleared to play sports yet, though, so he will sit out this Sunday’s basketball and soccer games.  He’ll also skip tennis practice and luckily there is no swimming this week so he won’t miss anything there.  The doctor said he could resume sports once he could hop 20 times on that leg without any pain, so we’ll start testing it next Monday.  In the meantime, here are the pictures I managed to take before having to leave for the ER.

sorry about the injury..but i know how you feel, my daughter broke her wrist this winter break and it was amazing how many other things (soccer, basketball, lacrosse, even skateboarding) it affected…so happy they let her at least play soccer with the cast wrapped.

Scrapes, bruises, sprains and sometimes a more serious injury are part and parcel of sports.

Just glad to know that Ben’s OK.
