No new pictures yet. Since my last post, the kids were snowed out of sporting events AGAIN, this time by a storm that dumped two feet of snow just before Christmas break. And funny enough, I don’t take pictures during the whole Christmas thing. I just like to sit back and participate, and drink it all in. One day I’m sure we’ll look back and wonder why there aren’t any pictures of holidays.
But I do have some news. Some time back I entered a photo contest sponsored by Sony, called Shoot for the FIFA World Cup. The grand prize was a trip for two to South Africa for the World Cup and the chance to be an official flag bearer at one of the games. Alas, I did not win the grand prize. But I did win third prize, which was good enough for a point & shoot camera (Sony Cyber Shot). I haven’t received the prize yet, but you can see the winning entry here: Shoot for the FIFA World Cup. It’s the one called “Balance.”
Funny enough, I didn’t think this was the best photograph I submitted but it’s clear from the winners that they had very specific criteria in mind. In any case, I’m happy to have won something, given the number of entries!
